The word 'Sri-vidya' means the mantras of 'Sritripurasundari'. Though the word "Sri", is associated with Goddess Laksmi – the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, but according to 'Haritayan Samhitas' & 'Brahmandpurana' etc. the real meaning of 'Sri' is "Mahatripurasundari'. Goddess Laksmi had worshipped 'Mahatripurasundari' and blessed to be worshipped as 'Sri' all over the world.
