Dr.Hegde has more than 430 publicationsincluding research papers, bulletin, etc. Dr. Hegde has more than many awards like Dhiru Moraji Award from TSI Four times. Best paper awards from Indian Society of Agronomy and Indian Fellow of NAAS, ISOR and ISA. Dr. Hegde served in many committees of ICAR, Planning Commission and Govt. of India.

Dr. Vijay Katyal retired as Principal Scientist (Agricultural Statistics) after serving ICAR from 21.10.1970 to 30.9.2006 in different capactities in several institutes of ICAR viz. CJAFRI, Barrackpore, 24-Parganas (West West Bengal, Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, Project Directorate on Cropping Systems Research, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), India) He has also published Statistical Methods for Agricultural Field Experiments with Dr. B, Gangwar, Project Director, Project Directorate on Farming Systems Research (ICAR), Modipuram-250110, Meerut, U.P. in the year 2011.
