Story of a Chief Justice

The volume takes up the life and career of Justice U. L. Bhat, former chief justice, Kerala High Court. Here, the chief justice presents an account of his his birth and early life and his studies. He then discusses decades of experience in his career—first as an advocate and then as a judge and finally as chief justice of the Kerala High Court for four years and four months. He presents some interesting cases decided by him and cites instances of miscarriage of justice that he came across. He sheds valuable light on the process of the judiciary itself: its state and functioning, focusing on its drawbacks as well as its positive points. He also gives his views on fellow judges of the High Court of Kerala.
