Stripes in the Wild is more than simply about where tigers are found; it is as much about the space that they occupy – physically, and in the mind.
With a portfolio of more than sicty images of the Royal Bengal tiger in its varying habitats, the book focuses not only on the ciew through the lend, but also the altering perpectives that people have brought to a reading of this magnificent animal. Celebrated in mythology and folklore, India has a tradition of protecting tigers and their habitats. It is through a retelling of these stories – through stunning visuals and recounting of experience – that interest in the tiger and its habital is refreshed and continued.
Stripe in the Wild is Somesh Goyal’s attempt at precisely this. First inspired while on a visit to the Jim Corbett National Park, wildlife photography and conservation are now second nature to him – both for which, he has received national commendation and several awards.
