ABOUT THE AUTHOR Col. G.K. Sharma

Colonel G.K. Sharma (Retd.) is a Post-graduate in Commerce, bachelor of laws from Agra university and Holds Post-graduate Diploma in personnel Management and Labour Welfare from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He was commissioned in 1964 in the Army service Corps. After holding regimental and legal staff appointments he qualified the department examination for transfer to Judge Advocate general’s department of the Army where he served from 3 Aug. 1971 to 7 Oct. 1991. He has held various legal, judicial and instructional appointments at Division, Area, Corps, Command and Army Headquarters, attended numerous Courts-martial trials as Judge Advocate and has imparted instructions in military and allied laws to the junior as well as senior Officers of the Army and other Armed Forces. He is the founder Commandant of the Institute of Military law, which is now functioning at Kamptee. Since 8 October 1991, he has been practicing as Advocate, in the Tribunals and Courts-martial.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Col. M.S. Jaswal

Colonel M.S. Jaswal is a graduate from DAV College, Jalandhar and holds a first class degree in Law (L.L.B., (Hons) from Indore University, having stood fourth in the university. He obtained post graduate degree (LL.M.) in Constitutional Law from Jai Narain Vyas university, Jodhpur. Commissioned in Infantry in June 1975, he having served in regimental and Instructional appointments (Instructor in Weapons at Infantry in June 1975, he having served in regimental and Instructional appointments (Instructor in Weapons at Infantry School, Mhow) he changed over to Judge Advocate general’s Department in 1984. he has conducted a number of Courts martial as prosecutor, defending Officer and thereafter as Judge Advocate. He has been legal advisor at Corps level since 1993. he has been associated with raising and establishment of the Institute of Military Law at Shimla and Kanptee.
