Subalternity and Literature

Subaltern literature or literature from the margins is an alterity, literature that contravenes ‘mainstream,’ represents margins, exemplifies resistance, challenges privileging, locates roots and explores the otherness. It is an authentic space for subversive voices transpiring out of the complex, ignored and suppressed experiences of the subaltern. The growing unequal economic, social, religious, cultural and political interconnections continue to create peripheries and the powerless rather than rupturing human made lope sided frontiers. This volume is an endeavour to present comprehensive creative and critical perspectives on the theoretical, historical, literary representations of the subaltern.
