Teacher, the key factor in all educational development, needs to be professionally equipped with teaching competencies, commitment and determination to perform at their best. The world needs more teachers, better teachers and more committed teachers. Globalisation has been for sometime now a theme of interest to educators, particularly in the field of teacher education. This book suggests that the notion of globalisation provides a central focus for reframing teacher education research and theory. The book demonstrates an admirable unity, with nearly every chapter contributing another facet to our understanding of globalisation and education-not an easy task to achieve given its scope. The book is a valuable addition to the teacher education field and would be especially appropriate as a text in teacher education programmes. Although most of the chapters are not on the basis of global context and framework, even then it will find much of value here in the extent to which the problematics of methods in an era of globalisation are treated as key to the analysis of teacher education problems around the world.
