Teachers are an essential link between children with learning disabilities and the interventions and services that can help them. There is no student with a learning disability who cannot learn, if a teacher has received appropriate training and is willing to spend the time, using his or her expertise to reach and teach that child. To meet the goal of equal access to the curriculum for everyone, to enable each student to engage with his or her lessons in a meaningful way, teachers must be prepared to provide useful alternatives in terms of both curricular materials and instructional delivery. This publication in two volumes is designed for educationists, teachers, students and teacher trainers. The focus of this work is on helping students with learning disabilities become more efficient and effective learners by teaching them how to learn. By utilizing new and innovative teaching techniques and strategies described in this work, teachers can provide students with the tools for a lifetime of successful learning. The work will be of immense use and prove itself most dependable authentic reference to all concerned.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui
Dr. Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui was born at Jiragaur. P.O. Kamalganj, District Furukhabad, (Uttar Pradesh), obtained first certificate High School from Kamalganj. He obtained second certificate (Intermediate) from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Nainital. He obtained B.A. and M.A. (Economics) degrees from Kumaun University, Nainital, B.Ed., M.Ed., M. Phil. (Education) and Ph.D. (Education) from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He worked in the national Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi as Junior Project Fellow in the Department of Measurement, Evaluation, Survey of Data Processing in 1987 for a short period. He also worked in Jamia Millia Islamia university, as Lecturer in Education (Economics) on adhoc basis from first January 1991 to 15th January 1992. he contributed two books earlier in the area of models of Teaching. These are "Models of Teaching: Theory and Research", and "Excellence of Teaching: A Model Approach". He also contributed some research papers in the area of models of teaching and teacher education Published in the important journals in India like "Journal of Indian Education" and Indian Education Review: A Research Journal Published by National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi.
