This book contains point analysis and description of the subject in Indian educational context. It covers the syllabi of all the Indian universities on the subject in lucid language and in proper style as well as method of approach to the concepts covered in this book. I trust this will merit the attention of the talented students, teachers and other readers as well. The subject matter of ‘Textbook of Educational Psychology’ has been presented in fifty-two chapters with a view to cover all the sub-topics of the subject prescribed by various Indian Universities in their syllabi for under-graduate, post-graduate classes, while many of the other books on educational psychology have been written in accordance with syllabi of particular universities. The special feature of this book is Chapter 38, captioned ‘Identification of Talented and Creative Students and Development of Creativity through Education’, which, to the best of my knowledge, has not been taken up in proper context by any other author in his book. I have tried my best to make the study of this interesting by giving relevant illustrations and examples from actual life situations of students, parents, teachers and other common persons as well as common happenings at school, home and society in support of various contentions concerning the subject under study. Planned as a textbook for the students and reference book for the teachers and scholars, this book is a critical and constructive appraisal of the subject. While I have tried my best to make this book the best on the subject, I will feel amply rewarded if the reader revisualises his mode of behaviour and feels the necessity of effecting some necessary modification in the same to the best advantage of the children, because their healthy growth and development happens to be the prime responsibility of the parents and teachers.
