ABOUT THE AUTHOR Inderjeet Kaur Sethi
Inderjeet Kaur Sethi is an Associate Professor of Botany at SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, India, since 1975. She has been teaching courses in Microbiology, Mycology, Phytopathology, Phycology, Plant Physiology, Ecology and Environmental Science to undergraduate students of biology. After completing her BSc (Hons) Botany, MSc (Botany) from Department of Botany, University of Delhi, India, in 1971 and 1973 respectively she obtained her PhD from the same university in 1980. Dr Sethi was associated with the axenic culture of rust fungi for which very little work was done the world over and none was done in India. She has published several research papers and articles in international and national journals of repute and has co-authored six reference books on Environmental Science. Presently, her research interests include identification and cataloguing of slime moulds and fleshy fungi of Delhi. She has in fact reported several slime moulds from Delhi.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Surinder Kaur Walia
Surinder Kaur Walia is an Associate Professor of Botany at SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, India. She has been teaching courses in Microbiology, Mycology, Phytopathology, Biotechnology and Genetics since 1996 to undergraduate students of biology. She has obtained her Doctoral degree from Department of Botany, University of Delhi, India and carried out Post Doctoral work there. She worked on Laboulbeniales, a pioneering effort in India's mycological sphere. She is also credited with reporting more than 20 species of these fungi from India. She has published several research papers in reputed international and national journals and contributed articles in books. Currently, she is working on microbial ecology.
