The Bengali are considered to be the original inhabitants of the Bengal region of southwest Asia. This territory is divided politically between Bangladesh and West Bengal, a state in India. Bengali is the native language spoken by most of the groups in this region. While the vast majority of Bengalis live in Bangladesh and northeast India, there are significant communities in a number of other countries and other parts of India as well. ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.N. Das

S.N. Das born on 1963 in a poor family of village Goalkhore of Sahebgang district of Jharkhand, Mr. Das completed his early school education at Farakka of West Bengal. He completed his B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons from B.C.K.V., Kalyani, West Bengal and did his post graduation from the same institute in the discipline of Horticulture with specialization in Floriculture and Landscaping. He was also awarded Junior Fellowship of I.C.A.R. in Horticulture after completion of Graduation. He has organized and attended several Farmers Training Meetings, Seminars and Conferences. He has given technical advices to a number of Easter India Horticulture and Biotechnology Center, Calcutta. He has had extensive practical experiences in the field of Agriculture and Horticulture. He has published several books and research papers and popular articles in different reputed journals, magazines and newspapers.
