The Book of the Kindred Sayings is the English translation of the Samyutta Nikaya, a book of the Sutta Pitaka, belonging to the original Buddhist canon, is marked with simplicity and readability by way of most appropriate English interpretations and renditions of the original teachings of the Buddha expounded in the Pali language in the style of catechism. The translation though first published in, as early as 1917, is still considered ‘unsurpassable’ by the modern scholars. The first two parts of The Book of the Kindred Sayings are Mrs. C.A.F. Rhys Davids’ translations. F.L. Woodward translated the last three parts of the book.
