It is a historical book. But to relieve the readers from monotony, some allegorical stories have been included in it keeping relevance with the main subject matter. The subject matter of the book may be divided into three parts namely the last days of Mughal period, the two hundred years of British rule and the fifty years of rule by our native people after independence, the main part being the British period. It is known to everybody that at the fag end of the Mughal rule, there was no law and orders in this country and through the weakness of the rulers, the British who came here for trade usurped the political power of the country and during their long time rule, we have been benefited to a great extent that do loss of our freedom. In the last part, I have discussed the rule by our native people which is being experienced by us—one and all, in our day to day life.
