River pollution continues to be a major problem despite several initiatives taken by Central and State Government under National River Action Plans. Majority of Indian rivers will still be called as ‘seriously polluted’. The book describes a very detailed study on the chemistry of River Pamba, Kerala. The pollution of this River is a classic example of gross abuse of a river by human activities. A detailed hydrochemistry and biogeochemistry of River Pamba is reported in this work.
