The present book is a product of intensive fieldwork conducted among the Kuchbandiyas of Shahgarh area of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The objective of the study is to focus socio-demographic, reproductive and child health care practices among the denotified (ex-criminal) Kuchbandiyas of Shahgarh. They are previously known as criminal community and later as notified tribe or class. The authors highlight the socio-demographic, reproductive and child health care practices profile including poverty and living standard, environmental sanitation, sanitary habits and personal hygiene, fertility aspects, morbidity and mortality aspects, indigenous health practices, feeding practices and child immunization, utilization of health and family welfare services etc. The book contains thirteen chapters, in which approximate ten different aspects of Kuchbandiyas life have been covered. In view of its multidisciplinary nature, the book, which is first of its kind, would be of immense help and use to general readers, academicians, socio-cultural anthropologists, medical anthropologists and researchers.
