The Functions of Cataloguing in Library Science

The main function of the libraries is to help the students, the researchers and other readers. The library science teachers have over a period of time learnt some lessons in the methods of cataloguing the books. A good library keeps a good catalogue of books which is both according to author-wise and according to title-wise. In this process the Dewey decimal system of cataloguing has been found to be very useful and up-to-date.
