ABOUT THE AUTHOR P. Rajeswar Rao

Mr. P. Rajeswar Rao (b. 1913), Advocateand freedom fighter is a graduate of Calcutta University and Law Graduate of Patna University. Enrolled as an Advocate of Madras High Court in 1941. While studying in Matriculation, he plunged into Salt Satyagraha of 1930 and courted imprisonment. Simultaneously pursued journalism and became a contributor to The Hindu, Indian Express, Illustrated Weekly of India, Hindustan Review and Modern Review. Became intimate with Tej Bahadur Sapru, Sri Prakasa, Pattabhi Sitaramayya, Prakasam, S. Radhakrishna, Hridaya Nath Kunzru and Sachchidananda Sinha. Delivered the Prestigious "Norton Memorial Endowment Lecture" on the Invitation of Madras Bar Council with S. Varadachari, Judge, Federal Court presiding. Freely defended freedom fighters involved in "Quite India" movement of 1942. Offerred Services to I.N.A. Defence Committee. He is the authro of A Outline of Indian Art (1948), Survey of Indian Conctitution (1950), Biography of Prakasam and Profiles in Patriotism (1984). Workied as officer on special duty, Union Ministry of Education, Government of India's Standing Committee on Moral Education (1962-63)
