The Poetry of Sylvia Plath and Kamala Das: A Comparative Study of Confessional and Feminine Perspectives

The book examines andanalyses the poetic world of the two women, Sylvia Plath and Kamala Das, hailing from two different cultures. The present book attempts a criticalanalysis of the poetic concerns from a female perspective with the purpose of identifying and comparing the poetesses’ strategies of response to the forces of oppression that exists in a gendered society. It is through a confessional woman’s voice and through conflicts of consciousness through whichthe poets try to arrive at the poetics of individual experience.
