The book contains all the relevant material available to me down to the date of giving it to the press for publication. There have been many additions and a few omissions, but the tenor and texture of the book have been kept intact. In the book as revised there is no rude interpolation of discordant material merely to inflate the size. The book is intended to be a specialised study of the relationship between in the press and the Indian Parliament and therefore the temptation to diffuse it into a broad-based treatise is resisted.
