This book brings forth the salient features of the lives and teachings of Sikh Gurus. The development of Sikh society has been traced from its inception under the surveillance of Guru Nanak to its full maturity under the tenth Guru Gobind Singh. Besides mentioning all the socio-political factors which contributed directly or indirectly to its progress in the 16th and 17th centuries, the author has adroitly discussed the closeness maintained by the Sikh religion with Hinduism.
