This book provides new insights into the lives and times of three dalit writers namely Narendra Jadhav, Omprakash Valmiki and Sharankumar Limbale to analyze the presentations of their lived life reality, who despite being bound by the common thread of ‘dalit consciousness’ have their individual hallmarks as dalit writers.
Making an in-depth study of their living styles and experiences, it attempts to discuss the dalit subjectivity which is the product of unjust caste system, rawness and emotional baggage of dalit life, creative inspiration from the experience of being a dalit, definition and the correct understanding of dalit consciousness, connection between dalit consciousness and literary production, the blend of pathos and protests against the injustice and the future course of action for demand of a dignified life.
