India alike a developing country is a developing tourist destination, hence, problems concerning tourism deserve careful academic consideration and understanding. Therefore, as per need of the hour many institutions have started teaching tourism at undergraduate and postgraduate level, but there is a dearth of textbooks, on the subject, written by Indian authors and students are forced to read books written by foreign authors in which the subject had been discussed without taking Indian realities into consideration.
