Transgenics in Horticulture provides a comprehensive account of the genetic manipulation of various horticultural crops like fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, plantation crops, medicinal and aromatic plants for pest and disease resistance, stress tolerance and improvement of yield and quality. It is a compilation of the production of transgenic horticultural crops highlighting the key scientific and technical advances in their development. The text has been organized into eight chapters which includes an short introduction to the importance of transgenic horticultural crops followed by the advanced transformation studies carried out in various horticultural crops. Hopefully it will cater the needs of advanced undergraduates, post graduate students and other researchers in this area.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR J. Aslin Joshi
J. Aslin Joshi obtained her, M.Sc. (Agi.) in Plant Breeding and Genetics and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore. She has been awarded two gold medals for her academic achievements. Her field of research is QTL mapping, pumpkin, for high carotene content and flash thickness.

She has published 6 research papers in reputed international and national journals. Her field of research is maize transformation and sugarcane biotechnology.
