The book is a major study on tribes of North India and tribal life. This study makes a comprehensive study of the social, economic, cultural and religious aspects of the Indian tribals. The various reasons of tribal backwards in relation to their socio-economic situation have been discussed of length. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pramod Kumar Singh
Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh teaches English at. S.P. Jain College, Sasaram, Bihar (Vir Kunwar Singh) University, Ara). He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1986. He is a post graduate in English, History, Sociology and also a graduate in Law. Dr. Singh has contributed a large number of scholarly paper to literary journals and edits journals The Literary Mirror and Bihar Industrial Journal. He has authored books of criticism: The Novels of R.K. Narayan: A Critical Evaluation, Indian Fiction in English, Major Indo-English Novelists and Novels, Salman Rushdie: a Critical Evaluation, five contemporary Indian Novelists and Khushwant Singh: A Critical Evaluation. His contributions in the field of law are: Supreme Court on Human Rights and social Justice, Legal Language: Legal Writing, Supreme Court on Services Law (In press) and Banking.
