The articles in the volume cover terrorism, nuclear trends and nuclear non-proliferation, the drug trade and other topics to view the role of these and related factors on global destabilisation. They are concerned with the implications of these on a number of subjects like globalisation of trade and economy focusing on the financial crisis and on energy markets and migrations especially from a Russian perspective. A focus is on Indo-Russia ties in the context of emerging patterns of international hegemony and the countries’ views on the emerging global order, the situation in Afghanistan and the Israel-Palestine conflict. They argue that the situation in the Middle East has far-reaching consequences for the countries of the region. They also take up the concern relating to use of international organisations by countries to serve their own interests.
