This book tries to understand the complexities of Indo-China relationship. In spite of increased political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, distrust still remains. Tracing the history of Into-China war of 1962, it describes the factors that led to the war.
Highlighting India’s failure to understand her neighbour well, it proposes that the two countries will remain fierce competitors and hence it is imperative for India to understand the thinking, tactics and tantrums of her ‘uneasy’ neighbour. It also discusses Nehru’s love for communism, the Tibet policy, the failure of Panchsheel and the contemporary challenges of their relationship.
