This book is about the US-Iraq conflict. The book offers the historical perspective on Iraq, a background of the present conflict, a clear historical record of Saddam’s totalitarian regime. The UN’s actions, resolutions and role in the present conflict is also included in this book. What the US says, does and intends is also discussed pertinently in the book. This bookraises many questions and answers many of them. Saddam’s regime may be totalitarian, oppressive and fascist or Stalinist (in functioning style), but any other country have a right to topple the regime by declaring the war on Iraw. UN supported US in 1991 war with Iraq, supported in Afghanistan, supported in war against terror against al-Quaeda and other terrorist organization. This time without seeking a mandate from UN Bush and Blair went for war against Iraq. Do they have any legal or bonafide right to do so? What if China decides to remove the leadership of Taiwan, or India decides to remove leadership in Pakistan? Will Bush and Blair perform similar act in Burma which is also ruled by a totalitarian regime and where oppression is prevalent? Are Bush and Blair still carrying the famous 19th century ‘White Man’s Burden’? The Raj is gone but Bush and Blair wants a new kind of Raj to establish over this earth. Disintegration of Soviet Russia has provided a great opportunity to Bush and Blair to establish a hierarchy of countries who are either supporting US-Britain, or remain neutral; opposition to their policies will bot be talerated in this new world order. Whole world is witnessing the demonstration against war, not only in Muslim dominated countries but also in US and Britain, but the two great leaders of great democratic nations are not caring for the public opinion. Will the UN go the Leaque of Nations way? What will the UN do if any lesser power chose to attack on any other country? Search for weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq is abandoned. At this time when US-British forces deep inside Iraq and control of the country, they are yet to find these weapons. Where are the chemical and biological weapons? If Iraq had these weapons then it could have used against the invading forces in self defence. In fact US is the only coutry in the world which has used atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If any country is to be disarmed from weapons of mass destruction it should be US first. Bush at Home, and the disarmament should start from the bigger powers. It is hoped that this book will be an interesting reading to general public and scholars as well.
