ABOUT THE AUTHOR Keshav Kant
Dr. Keshav Kant is a former Professor of Mechanical Engineering, IIT, Kanpur, who after superannuation from IIT, Kanpur in June 2005, served as a Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and later as the Director of Maharana Pratap Engineering College including the departments of MBA, MCA and Maharana Pratap College of Pharmacy to bring up these Institutions. He has 80 publications to his credit in National and International Journals and Proc. of International Conferences.A graduate from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi in 1964 and Master of Engineering from the University of Roorkee (Now IIT, Roorkee), he served as a faculty of Mechanical Engineering mostly at IIT, Kanpur since 1967. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in 1983, from McGill University Montreal, Canada. He has been the recipient of several awards from his Alma-maters. He has contributed significantly in developing Undergraduate and Graduate Courses in the Department and Thermal Science Laboratories at IIT, Kanpur. He has guided 7 Ph.Ds, 43 M. Techs, 30 senior UG Design Projects and 12 AMIE Projects.Professor Keshav Kant has been involved with Technology development related to Surfactants, Simulated Moving Bed Heat Regenerators and Retrofitting Small Capacity Refrigeration Systems using Eco-friendly Refrigerants. He has also been involved with Software development related to heat exchangers and Air Conditioning System Design. He has also been involved with several sponsored research projects and consultancy projects. He has been a Visiting Professor to several U.S. Universities. He has been a Keynote speaker in many National and International conferences, and many Institutions in India. He has been a reviewer for the J. of IIR Paris and J. of IE (India). He has been accredited as one of the best teachers at IIT, Kanpur and U.S. Universities. As a Chairman of the Kanpur Local Centre, IE (I) India for 2 years and member of its executive for the past 10 years, he has organized several technical events related to Water Resources and Environment for the awareness of the people in the society.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rajni Kant
Er. Rajni Kant retired from UP State Electricity Board as Chief Engineer, Thermal Design and Engineering following which he remained Advisor to a number of Consulting organizations namely Premier Engineering Technologies-Engineering and Management Consultant, New Delhi, M/S Premier Mott Macdonald, New Delhi (Consulting Organisation), M/S Amity, Energy and Environmental Consultants, New Delhi, and many other similar organisations.Er. Rajni Kant, an Engineering graduate from BHU (1954), received extensive training in the works of M/S Hitachi Ltd. (Japan) and at large capacity Power Stations and Projects of Georgia Power company (USA). He has more than 50 years of experience in the aforesaid fields and has authored about 40 papers in National and International Journals. He is a member of Association of Technical Scholarship (Japan), International Association on Generation, Transmission & Distribution (Afro-Asian Region), Central Board of Irrigation & Power (lndia) and International Society of Environmental Botanists.
