This is a book on the children who have been orphaned in India due to various reasons. It presents an insight into the world of the orphans and deals with the Indian state’s attitude towards them—focusing on the government apathy towards them and issue of legislation aimed at the welfare of the orphaned children. It delves into the many problems they face and the solutions to these problems. Referring to specific orphaned children and their concerns, it is concerned with the pitiful plight of the children, who continue to be marginalised and cannot voice their concerns unlike other disadvantaged groups.
