Women Who Owns You is an outcome of the proceeding of the International Seminar hosted by the Dept. of English, Andhra University, Visakapatnam. The seminar theme was on Psycho Dynamics of Women in the post modern literature of the east and west. The present book is the collection of selected research papers presented during the seminar. Woman has no equation to balance her suffering bestowed on her through patriarchal ties and her role in fulfilling the societal expectations. From a low this silent suffering and inexpressible agony, she has to reign through make her stand at the cross roads of life, disillusioned focused and bewildered. Though she refurbishes her disparate spirit by fowning her happiness, health, and slaves herself for the development of her family, yet she is not recognized as a man’s equal. There the immediate thought that surface in the mind is a debatable question. Women, who owns you. It is the family, society or the self. This book contains the papers on the sub themes like the women’s movement, the discourse of sexuality, general dualism, eco-terminus, domestic violence, etc. This book, it is hoped will prove to be a great asset to all those academicians who intend to pursue their studies on women’s issues.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Prasanna Sree

Dr. S Prasanna Sree is an Associate, Professor, in the Department of English, Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam. Earlier she was at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupathi as Associate Professor, in the department of English (1987-2000). She has co-authored a book titled English for Career Development as a part of her team work project under ODA's Sponsorship with the University of Manchester, U.K. She is a scholar, critic and a poet. Her poetic career began with the publication of her first volume of poems in 1990 under the title Time's Test and Other Poems. Her second volume was brought out in 1992 with the title Ripples on Still Water, Misty Magma another collection of poems in 1999. Her latest collection of poems is entitled as Whispers Within, published in 2002. She has participated and presented papers in various National and International seminars and has published articles in the field of Indian Writing in English, Canadian Literature, Black Literature, Common wealth Literature. She is an active member in various National and International academic, cultural, social organizations.
