Women and Work: Human Resource Management, Perspective

Entry of women in all types of workplaces have brought about new challenges for Organization Management specialists. Whether one likes it or not, women are the new workforce of the next century. The status of knowledge about micro level factors particularly from Human Resources Management perspective is limited. This is also evident from the fact that the management-theorizing is gender neutral, even though in practice it is not so. Restructuring women’s role for allowing them to achieve excellence, competence and satisfaction needs attention of management thinkers. This book attempts to unfold these correlates of ‘women and work’ through survey, data and review based analysis. Emphasizing on need for a humanistic approach and need for looking ahead, an attempt has been made to suggest that management studies and policy planners could think in the direction of an alternative paradigm.
