The book is about the study of marketing of Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP) by the Institutions like Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), North East Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (NEITCO), Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC). The study focuses on the impact generated by these EDP’s on the women entrepreneurs of Assam. For this purpose, the contents of the book are divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the framework of the study, methodology review of literature and its objectives. Here the socio-economic status of women is explored and their contribution towards economic development is accounted for. The dual role conflict of women in is analysed in the context of pursuing career in entrepreneurship. The third chapter discusses the profile of promoting organization and their service orientation. Marketing of EDP programmes forms the core of the book. The entrepreneurial feedback from the participants of the EDP programs is another addition which deals with empirical exercises. Study of the levels of satisfaction among the women participants of these courses is one of the focus areas of this chapter. The cost –benefit analysis of the courses is dealt with in a chapter. Usually, it is a reality that without government patronage, there can be little development. Therefore, government sponsorship, the policy on women entrepreneurship, the role of government in EDP movement etc., also forms subject matter of the book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Aparajeeta Borkakoty
Dr. Aparajeeta Borkakoty is a god medialist in M.Com of Gauhati University. She has fifteen years of rich experience in teaching to her credit. She was employed as a lecturer in humanities, by the government of Assam, under Assam Education Service. There she was engaged in policy making, besides being associated with the responsibility of framing course curriculum for the government. Later she joined the Gauhati University as a faculty member in the department of commerce. Dr. Borkakoty has participated in the various regional and national seminars and conferences held all over the country. She has nine research papers published in reputed national journals.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nayan Barua
Nayan Barua at present a Reader in the P.G. Department of Commers, Gauhati University, started his career as a Lecturer in Commerce of Gauhati Commerce college, Guwahati in 1978. He has been in teaching and research in the University since 1988. He also completed his L.L.B. and Ph.D. in 1983 and 1992 respectively. He has published two books to his credit beside 30 research papers in variour books and journals of national and international repute. He has also successfully guided three of his research scholars in obtaining Ph.D. degree.
