Women in Information Technology: Enabled Services

This book is the result of a research project "Opportunities and Challenges for Women in Information Technology Enabled Services" (ITES) sector a study in Bangalore sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi. This book focuses on the growth and features of Information Technology Enabled Services Sector in India. In this book an attempt is made to examine the opportunities and challenges of ITES work with special reference to women employees. Due to the recency of the ITES sector in India we know little about the nature and quality of the work that takes place within them. Very few in depth empirical studies have been carried out so far by academic researchers. This study therefore makes an important contribution to our knowledge of this new form of employment.
