Women in Islam

The fact is that Prophet Muhammed had allowed a Muslim to marry four women. This fact had historically speaking weakened the position of women in the Islamic society. But that was a different society governed by historical circumstances, the tribal warfares were very common and more and more men were wanted for the survival of the tribe.
