Women Socio-Economic Problems

It is a well-known phenomenon in the annals of our history that women is facing arduous and complex problems since the time of her birth. Mostly in the rural areas where she is in a very large number, she is struggling hard to maintain and strenthen her status. She is facing the social system of dowry and its demand, violence and crime tantamount to rape of innocent young girls. The role of society and the government is most significant. The theme on ‘socio-economic problems’ have been weaved into eighteen chapters which has covered, in a comprehensive way, women and rural development, the construction workers, tribal female labourers, threat to womanhood, occupational problems, gender justice, technology and development, prostitution, a social curse, marriage system, violence and insecurity, crime against women, violent actions faced by women, the custodial justice, dowry death in the Indian sub-continent, the all-women police force, unique and novel role of women in the defence of India and last but not the least types of educational development.
