Women’s empowerment refers to the ability of women to transform economic and social development when empowered to fully participate in the decisions that ‘affect their lives through leadership training, coaching, consulting, and the provision of enabling tools for women to lead within their communities, regions and countries. Women for prosperity campaigns to get more women in positions of influence. WFP seeks to empower women, to enable them to economically support their families, to experience personal safety and security, and maintain their values and identity. Women make up two-thirds of the estimated 876 million adults worldwide who cannot read or write; and girls make up 60 percent of the 77 million children not attending primary school. Education is among the most important drivers of human development women who are educated have fewer children than those who are denied schooling.
