The translation is lucid. The emphasis of the author is on the spiritual interpretation of the Vedic texts and the relation between the internal and external yajnas. There are interesting introductory essays that discuss the meaning and significance of the yajna, the deities and other symbols, benefits of outer yajna, and the deeper meanings of legends. It also examines the place of the Taittiriya Samhita among Veda books and refutes some misconceptions regarding it.
