The Papers in this collection were presented at a Seminar held under the auspices of the Association for the Study of History and Archaeology (ASHA) in April 1995. The anthology contains papers on migration and archaeological cultures, settlement patterns, problems of coordinating literary texts and archaeological data, methodologies and approaches for medieval archaeology in India and finally, on a case for developing regional archaeology in India.
The Indian economy clearly seems to have followed a higher growth trajectory with over 9 per cent growth in GDP for the fiscal year 2006-07.
