Feminism and Postcolonialism in Krupabai Satthianadhan

This book delves into the archives of Indian writings in English by women and uses the tools of feminism and postcolonialism to analyse the writings of Krupabai Satthianadhan, one of the earliest Indian women to write fiction in English. The book is an attempt to add to the almost non-existent criticism on 19th century Indian women writers. It recognises issues not only in the writings of Krupabai Satthianadhan but also in the writings of her contemporaries which enable us to read them in the context of gender and post colonialism.
