The Fourth edition is more comprehensive listing about 12, 000 serial publications including newspapers. Approximately 5,000 titles have been added to the previous edition. All the entries which are not updated (*) or where the new address is not available (S) have been distinguished at the start of the entry by (*) or (S). International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) wherever provided, has been mentioned. Current volume only in case of delayed publication is given. In addition to Telephone Number, Fax, Gram, Telex this edition now gives STD codes, E-mail and Internet Website for ready reference and faster communication. Some modifications have been made by addition of two new sections (i) news and views (ii) ceased and discontinued publications. The arrangement now is as follows: Section One: Main section that contains current bibliographic information on periodicals classified broadly by subjects. Section two: This is a new section which lists periodicals on news and views. Section three: Covers almost 700 newspapers, with advertisement tariff and information on various editions. Section four: All the periodicals that have been discontinued/ceased are entered under this section. Section five: "Status unknown/unconfirmed titles"-enlists the titles that may be existing but about which we have incomplete/insufficient information. Section Six: Is the title Index.
