The volume provides a mine of information on various facets of Library and Information Technology. It is hoped that it will be a useful addition to the library collections in the Academic and Special libraries. A
reading of this volume provides the present and the emerging scenario of the libraries and information centers in the county.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR N.V. Jagga Rao

N.V. JAGGA RAO is presently working as the Deputy Librarian at Central institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad. He has rich experience in various types of libraries having served the Andhra University Libray,Central Leather Research Institute , Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, American Studies Research Center and the British Library during his professional career spanning over four decades. He holds M. Phil degree in English Literature, MLISc from Osmania University and Certificate in Computer Applications to LIS from DRTC. He has published a number of articles in leading professional journals and has edited a book new Horizons in LIS: Dr. V. Venkatappiah festschrift. He has rich experience in conduction a number of user studies and served as resource person for UGC refresher courses conducted by various DLISs of University. He is life member of ILA, IASLIC, academy of Library science and Documentation, Andhra Pradesh Library Association, Indo- American Centre for International Studies, AGLIS and IATLIS. He has been invited to serve as subject expert for a number of selection committees and professional committees M. Ramchander M. Com. (PMIR); M.B.A. (HRM); M.L.I.Sc.; Dip. 'TD'; Ph. is Deputy University Librarian presently serving Potti Sreramulu Telugu University , Hyderabad (A.P.). He has been in the library and information science profession for the last three decades, having rich experience of librarianship, besides, being a teacher in library and information science education for about two decades. He served Small Enterprises National Documentation Centre at National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training, Hyderabad and Sarder Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy as Librarian. Designed and conducted a number of intensive training programmes, both national and international in LIS profession at SENDOC. Resource person and examiner for MLISc. and BLISc. courses of distance education, offered by IGNOU (New Delhi) and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (Hyderabad) etc. Honorary Director, Institute of Library Science (Hyderabad) and General Secretary . Academy of Library Science & Documentation, Hyderabad. Attended and orgnised a number of Seminars, Conference, Workshops and contributed papers and edited books. He is Life Member of the national professional forums -Indian Library Association (ILA), New Delhi; Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC).
