A long-standing idea to link India, Russia and China in a strategic triangle has received renewed attention in the Russian media following President Putin’s visit to India on December 2014. Against the backdrop of Western sanctions imposed on Russia and recalling its close friendship with India and growing ties with China, some Russian newspaper articles have resuscitated the notion of a Russia-India-China (RIC) strategic triangle in international affairs.
