ABOUT THE AUTHOR Gaya Pandey

Gaya Pandey (b. 1954) is a senior faculty in anthropology at Ranchi University, Ranchi  (Jharkand) ever since his joining as faculty member in this institution (1985), he has been actively engaged in fieldwork, teaching and research. He has to his credit dozens of articles published in journals of national (Indian) Anthropology), Bhartiya Janajatiya Sanskriti ( Indian Culture), Tribal  and Manav Shastriya Sidhanta: Shastriya and Adhunik ( Anthropological Theory: Classical and Modern).His books published under coauthorship include Sun Worship in India (1992), History of Anthropological Thought (1993), Manavshastriya Vicharak Ewam Vichardharayen (2000), Forest and Tribals (1997), Artisan Tribes of Bihar and Bengal (2001), Janajatiya Vikas (2001), Vikasatmak Manav Vigyan (2001), Tribal Development in India (2002), and Samajik Sanskritik Manav Shastra (2005).
