Farming Performance of Farm Women: Key to Sustainable Agriculture

The study in this book seeks to demystify the productive role of farm women in agriculture and related enterprises. It analyses, their farming performance in terms of their role, role perception, decision making pattern in cropping intensity, crop yield index, milk yield index, level of adoption, commercialisation index and diversification index in specified farming systems approach. The analysis highlights and supports the dominant role women play in agriculture and related enterprises in a farming systems approach. The increasing participation of women in agriculture and their farming performance in family farm lands leading to a process of feminisation of agriculture, emphasises the study, is a key to sustainable agriculture.
