A new approach to education has brought in at all levels called "Environmental Approach" which aims to evolve environmental ethics i.e. a balanced way of perceiving, thinking and acting towards environment. To achieve this objective, topics based on environmental problems have been incorporated in various disciplines like geography, science, mathematics, economics etc. at school level. As the main task of geography is to oversee the inter-relationship between man and his environment, it can play an important role in identifying the problems related to environment occurring in this interrelationship. A suitably desired geography curriculum should produce a high degree of motivation and involvement in respect to the environmental problems.
