ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ramesh C. Sharma
Ramesh Chandra Sharma holds a Ph.D. degree in Education in the area of Educational Technology and is currently working as Regional director in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) since 1996. Before joining IGNOU, Dr. Sharma has been Senior Faculty in a Teacher Training College for nearly ten years and has taught Educational Technology, Educational Research and Statistics, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, Psychodynamics of Mental Health Courses for the B.Ed. and M.Ed. Programmes. He has conducted many training programmes for the in- and pre-service teachers on the use of computers, Internet and multimedia in teaching and instruction. His areas of specialization include ICT applications, computer networking, online learning, student support services in open and distance learning, and teacher education. He is on the Editorial Board of referred and international Journals in distance education. He has co-authored one book on distance Education research and contributed articles to referred journals. He is one of the founder editors of the Asian Journal of Distance Education.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.K. Pulist
S.K. Pulist is Assistant Registrar at the Student Registration and Evaluation Division of the Indira Gandhi National Open University. He holds Masters Degrees in English, Sociology and Distance Education, and recently completed his doctoral dissertation in the field of Internet and secondary school teachers of Delhi. He has a number of research publications to his credit in reputed journals.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sanjaya Mishra
Sanjaya Mishra holds a Ph.D degree in Library and Information Science in the area of library networks. He has been involved in successful implementation of many multimedia and Internet based courses. With professional training in distance education, television production and multimedia, he is actively involved in collaboration at international level. At present, he is Reader in Distance Education at the Staff Training and Research Institute of Distance Education, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He also served (2001-2003) the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia at New Delhi as a Programme Officer, where he conducted a number of workshops on ‘Multimedia’ and ‘e-learning’ in the Asian region. He was Book Review Editor of Indian Journal of Open Learning from 1997-2000 and also edited few special issues of the same journal. He is author/editor of 5 books and has contributed more than 60 research papers in reputed professional journals. He is one of the founder editors of the Asian Journal of Distance Education.
