Women constitute a large majority of the labour force in the rural areas of the least developed countries, particular attention has to be paid to women’s development in terms of adequate mother and child health care, introduction of local health care, introduction of local technologies to make women’s less burdensome, and above all to provide the basic necessities such as clean drinking water and fuel for home use in order to reduce dramatically the time that is spent at present on these tasks.
