The book analyses the very conceptual foundations of international business for the benefit of businessman, government officials and members of the international community who are involved in the conduct of it. The object of the book is to study present institutions, forces, and problems that are involved when business managers and nations try to operate in many economies at once, and to sort out the threats and promises that develop when they try to link their operations across national boundaries. It highlights the significance of comprehensive strategy of international business both at the firm level and the national level so that the scarce resources of a nation could be harnessed to the optimum level to meet the rising aspirations and need of the people. It will clarify what is going to happen in the field in the remaining years of this century. This book carries the description and analysis of national policies to a much greater depth than is customary in a basic text, with emphasis on the problems and issues of the early 1990's.
