The present volume is a humble exercise in the newly emerging frontier of environmental history. Environmental history calls for a thorough understanding of the inner-connections (if any) between wildlife, deforestation, rainfall, agriculture, soil erosion, global warming, drought and famine on the one hand and changes in climate, global temperature and natural calamities on the other. The present compilation addresses some of these crucial themes of environmental history.
