Rural women in developing countries continue to be responsible for the time and labour intensive tasks but they do not have access to new technologies, especially in farm and allied activities management. No mechanization has been introduced for women dominated farm operations to reduce drudgery in work. Women do not get better results due to use of old/traditional implements. Therefore the major step in the present time is to introduce improved implements for performance of tasks. There is an immediate need to rectify the bias in designing of technologies for women. This book provides an in-depth knowledge on the use of technologies and in addition it made an attempt to describe the recommended dimensions of the technologies for particular task, its care and maintenance and its suitability to works. It is important to supply information on impact of technologies on the workers, methodologies to assess the relationship between dimensions of workers and the dimensions of the equipment that they use. Different kinds of techniques utilize to assess the cost of work of the workers with the use of traditional/improved techniques is also incorporated in the book. This book has been written to disseminate the information on the availability of technologies in work simplification and is useful not only to the students, researchers and scholars but also to families of farmers, NGO’s, professionals and others interested in the field.
